At present, the attraction "Regulate port traffic" is considerably outdated. The containers are not realistic, as they are plastic blocks. Also, the grab system of the port interaction does not work quite as desired. Namely, the system works by means of a suction cup that sucks vacuum. This suction cup does not always work properly and therefore can sometimes drop blocks when they are in the air. In addition, the game must be played with two people. Also, the attraction does not run through so many people have to wait. Currently, the harbor crane is made by Hüttinger.

To improve the outdated situation, Madurodam asked the team to come up with ideas. First, the attraction must become more realistic. For example, the blocks should have more of the appearance of a container. In addition, the gripping system must be improved so that the containers can be moved more easily. Third, it must be investigated how the attraction can be better controlled so that the interaction is easier and more fun. It should also be investigated how to improve the throughput, as there are long queues during busy days. Lastly, a game component should be added that will make it more fun for children to play.
